Enhanced voicemail is included with your VoIP Much phone service.
You will find that there are multiple greetings available to you, and they play under different conditions:
- Unavailable Greeting
Your unavailable greeting plays when you do not answer the phone. If you do not have a personal greeting recorded, a generic greeting will play*. The greeting is immediately followed by the {beep} for callers to leave you a voicemail message.
*ie: The person at 416-555-5555 is unavailable {beep}
- Busy Greeting
Your busy greeting plays when your line is busy. This greeting also plays when you are on the phone and do not answer call waiting. If you do not have a personal greeting recorded, a generic greeting will play*. The greeting is immediately followed by the {beep} for callers to leave you a voicemail message.
*ie: The person at 416-555-5555 is on the phone {beep}
- Name Greeting
The name greeting is only played if you have a name greeting recorded, and if you do not have a personal unavailable and/or busy greeting recorded. The greeting is immediately followed by the {beep} for callers to leave you a voicemail message.
ie: "John" is [unavailable / on the phone] {beep}
- Temporary Greeting
Your temporary greeting, if recorded, will play in place of any other greetings (unavailable, busy, name). The temporary greeting is perfect for:- When you do not want to record separate unavailable and busy greetings. Simply record a temporary greeting which will always play (regardless if your line is not answered or busy).
- When you go away or want to have a [temporary] different greeting for a short time. Your unavailable and busy greetings are suppressed and the temporary greeting always play (regardless if your line is not answered or busy). Simply delete your temporary greeting, and your unavailable and busy greetings are restored.
The year is 2023... it is assumed that everyone knows what do after the {beep}, so the default greetings do not provide that instruction. If you want to provide instruction to your callers (ie: leave a message after the {beep}), we recommend recording a
personal greeting.
